Addressing Comorbid Disorders from an Integrative Healthcare Model

It has long been established that the co-occurrence of problematic substance use and mental illness is the rule rather than the exception. Despite this knowledge, the implementation of an integrated form of care has been slow and inconsistent. This training session will briefly review the prevalence of comorbid disorders and highlight three specific evidence-based methods for addressing comorbid disorders in a variety of settings.

Ethics in Action: Applying Foundational Ethical Concepts & Implementing a Decision-Making Process

The goal of this presentation is to review foundational ethical concepts and core ethical principles in order to ensure that all participants understand their ethical responsibilities within the integrated behavioral healthcare team. Once this is done, participants will be invited to consider some case examples using a framework for resolving ethical dilemmas. Participants should leave the presentation with an enhanced understanding of how to apply their ethical principles and fulfill their ethical responsibilities.
